19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.
Success also indicates he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
The player's retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had led some to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was over.
However the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to force a decider.
He saved four initial break points in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a shot at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
